Itinerary Details: 10 days/9 nights

Day 1: Delhi Arrival

Namaste. Welcome to India! Arrive at Delhi International airport. You will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Delhi is a bustling metropolis that incorporates the ancient with the modern. Amidst the skyscrapers, the monuments stand as a silent reminder to India's legacy. Driving from the airport, you will be impressed with Delhi's spacious, tree-lined streets and garden parks. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Delhi—Jaipur

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur (5.5 hours). Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, owes its name, foundation and planning to the great astronomer and warrior Maharaja Jai Singh II. The city is fondly called the "Pink City" due to the pink colored buildings and avenues.

In the afternoon, tour the city: City Palace, a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture that is still occupied by the Royal family; Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory; and Palace of the Winds, a honeycomb structure of red and pink sandstone. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 3: Jaipur

This morning, proceed on a half-day tour of Amber Fort. The final descent to this ancient city is made by elephant back—a truly memorable experience! In the fort, you will see magnificent palaces and halls covered with mirrored mosaics. The afternoon is free for leisure activities. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 4: Jaipur—Bikaner

After breakfast, drive to the imposing walled city of Bikaner (7 hours). Bikaner is a city that has preserved its traditional aura of the medieval era. The red and pink sandstone buildings transcend the surrounding barren wilderness. Overnight in Bikaner.

Day 5: Bikaner—Jaisalmer

Morning excursion to Deshnok to visit the Karni Mata Temple. This 600 year old temple is dedicated to Karni Mata, believed to be an incarnation of the Goddess Durga. In the afternoon, drive to Jaisalmer (8.5 hours). Arrive by late evening and check into your hotel. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 6: Jaisalmer

After breakfast, proceed on a full day tour of Jaisalmer. Located in the heart of the Thar desert, Jaisalmer was founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D. Visit the Jaisalmer Fort, an imposing sight of yellow sandstone towering magnificently over the city. Also discover the painstakingly latticed havelis or mansions with their grand facades. In the evening, experience an unforgettable camel ride through the sand dunes at sunset. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 7: Jaisalmer—Jodhpur

Early morning drive to Jodhpur (7 hours). Upon arrival, check onto your hotel. Jodhpur is affectionately termed the "Blue City" and is the second largest city in Rajasthan. It is located at the edge of the Thar desert and known for its impressive fortified bastions. In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour that includes the Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Museum and Old City. Overnight in Jodhpur.

Day 8: Jodhpur—Udaipur

After breakfast, drive to Udaipur (6 hours). En-route, stop at Ranakpur, a pilgrimage destination famous for its exquisitely carved Jain temples. Later, arrive in Udaipur and check into your hotel. Udaipur, with a wealth of enchanting lakes, is in oasis in an otherwise barren Rajasthan landscape. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 9: Udaipur—Delhi

Proceed on a morning tour of Udaipur: City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan; Jagdish Temple, housing a black stone image of Vishnu as Jagannath; and Sahelion Ki Bari, or Garden of the Maids of Honor. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 10: Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Witness the architectural marvels, the multicolored facades, beautifully decorated shops, ethnically dressed locals and the fragrances emanating from the potpourri of eateries that line the historical alleys.

Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (1592-1666) built the walled city of Delhi on the banks of holy River Yamuna.  It had a magnificent palace known as Red Fort, impressive mansions, enchanting bazaars, elegant shrines, royal gardens and fountains at every corner to romance ones' senses.  The Emperor’s beloved daughter Jahanara designed a major street called Chandni Chowk in front of Red Fort, with a canal running down the center and pools at major intersections reflecting the moonlight.  During the British regime, the street underwent major changes and since then the area has witnessed some of the most important events in Indian history. Today these splendid ruins and tales of valor are a testimony of the evolution of the times.  Chandni Chowk truly reflects the national unity, secularism and diversity of India. The tour covers 20 main sites including palaces, mansions, elegant shrines and colorful bazaars.  End at a Haveli (mansion) built in 1860, which has a photo gallery depicting the lifestyle of Mughals and a small lounge to relax and relish some famous snacks.

Later, visit Humayun’s tomb, built by the widow of the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun, and an outstanding monument in the Indo-Persian style. Also, drive by the India Gate, Parliament and the President’s residence.

In the evening, transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Bon Voyage!
